The Assistant Controller will assist and manage the day to day accounting and finance functions of the area business.Roles and ResponsibilitiesSupport all aspects of accounting management (billing, reporting, compliance, FP&A, etc.).Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.Prepare monthly financial statements ensuring all statements are appropriately analyzed and correctly stated.Review balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to confirm proper reconciliation and supporting documentation.Review monthly financials with business unit managers addressing any issues.Perform month end closing activities – accruals, production entries, inventory adjustments, royalty payments, depletion entries, etc.Prepare annual budgets and financial reforecasts as required.Assist with monthly forecasting process. Prepare for and respond to internal and external audit requests.Oversee all aspects of compliance with SOX and internal controls.Ensure adequate controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financial assets.
