Operational Controller

Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, the Operational Controller will be responsible for oversight of all operational controllership activities including financial consolidation, financial systems governance, best practice procedures, some financial/management and controllership project management. The operational Controller will be involved in most aspects of the global controllership function and will work closely with the rest of the senior finance leadership team.


  • Manage the global corporate monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
  • Oversee all financial reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Operationalize the finance systems strategy
  • Manage the preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual financial information for internal and external reporting, audits, reviews and tax compliance
  • Support M&A function with initial mapping and uploads of newly acquired entities & general integration queries
  • Partner with Tax, Legal and Business Unit Controllers in accounting for legal entity mergers and liquidations
  • Maintain internal control and best-practice financial accounting processes, including the development of enterprise standards
  • Actively participate in the development of a global strategy for controllership
  • Work closely with business unit controllers and other functional leaders to identify and develop necessary controllership related tools
  • Project management controllership projects as required


  • Leverages strengths of the current finance team members
  • Develops and implements training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals;
  • Provides leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the enterprise; creates and promotes a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment; a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the CFO, Corporate Controller, and Technical Accounting Controller the accounting operations for the enterprise.


This is an extraordinary opportunity for a mature leader with ten to fifteen years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders.

Other qualifications include:

  • Minimum of a BA; CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Solid, current knowledge of GAAP
