Reporting to and partnering with the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will set financial policy and direction while also being an active participant and driver of the Company’s overall strategy. S/he will be a strategic partner and lead all financial administration, business planning, and budgeting. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will provide recommendations to the CEO based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/ expense analysis.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse team of professionals; Provide coaching/mentorship and development opportunities to foster growth.
  • Works with CEO and other C-Suite team members to monitor each department’s financials and make recommendations.

Financial and Operational Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company’s accounting & financial practices, processes, and initiatives and risk management to protect the company’s assets.
  • Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and monitor the use of funds.
  • Develop analyses to drive further insights and promote continuous process improvement to best practices.
  • Develops short and long-term financial strategies with gap analysis.
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of the long-term and tactical initiatives.
  • Ensures timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for executive management.
  • Manage the cash & capital requests.
  •  Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
  • Formulate & manage the company’s audit and tax strategies.
  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Works with the CEO and executive team to coordinate long and short term financial and business planning and establish priorities for the planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
  • Tracking cash flow and analyzing the company’s financial weaknesses and strength, whilst proposing corrective actions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems at a strategic and tactical level
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of management and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting and creating a strategic vision into an operational model
  • A collaborative and flexile style, with a strong service mentality 
  • A willingness to understand the business and be more than just a “numbers” professional
  • Hands on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic mission driven environment
  • Strong commitment to developing team members
  • Good understanding of trends in digital transformation

Here’s what you must bring to the table:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in financial management, with progressive levels of responsibility and management in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
