Finance brings together enterprise functions that drive Wells Fargo’s financial management, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, line of business finance, asset-liability management, treasury, tax management, and the company’s investment portfolios. They also inform shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, employees, and leaders of the company’s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines.

The Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader.  This group is focused on maintaining strong financial controls, providing accurate financial reporting, ensuring proper accounting via robust processes, and utilizing automated and complex tools.

This position will lead the Commercial & Corporate Lending segment reporting team, whose footprint spans the U.S. and India. This leader will interact routinely with senior executives across Finance, other support functions, and the lines of business. This leader will be responsible for achieving our CFO and Chief Accounting Officer’s objectives within the reporting segment. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, and organized with strong attention to detail who is comfortable leading large teams through significant and transformational changes. 

  • Leading the change management efforts surrounding regulatory reporting and regulations as they apply to credit risk reporting, capital calculations, and regulatory reporting requirements (Y9c, Y-14M/Q, 101/102, etc.) and working to create efficient and effective reporting practices
  • Lead segment reporting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness by overseeing and monitoring well-controlled processes
  • Understand who our key stakeholders across work streams and provide advice on external reporting and related controls and other considerations; this would include control executives, operational risk, business management (e.g. COO) teams, operations teams, and technology
  • Determining and prioritizing projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems
  • Developing approaches and responses to audit requests, and regulatory remediation projects in accordance with the Company’s Governance & Oversight Framework

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting
  • 5+ years of management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
  • Demonstrated success and mastery managing in a matrixed environment
  • An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Financial services experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of data management concepts, process, tools, and environments
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs
  • Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate loans, capital markets and investment banking  
  • Knowledge and experience with financial systems and applications (LoanIQ / AFS)
  • Demonstrated experience fostering strong partnerships, promoting teamwork, and influencing others
  • Strong critical thinking skills combined with strategic business focus

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
