Overview:The Financial Analyst – IT Services has a fundamental role in the development, tracking, reporting and analysis of IT budget.

This team member will act as liaison between IT and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) on IT financial matters.

This position requires significant coordination and strong collaboration with other departments and business partners in order to provide support.

Candidate will work with the IT Finance, GM International Operations and FP& A to represent the accounting and finance areas on operational activities and strategic initiatives.

May also perform system configuration, testing, end-user training and end-user support for the processes after implementation.

The analyst will be an excellent communicator who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment.

Understanding of accounting policies, principles and procedures.

This role will also play a key role in the implementation of IT/process projects.Responsibilities:JOB DUTIESPerform analytical work, involving the identification, compilation, and documentation of IT expenditures, for purposes of expense/headcount tracking, project costing and show-back reportingFundamentally manage and contribute in all aspects of the annual IT budget and analysisPrepare financial reports and present with reliable conclusions to enable senior management use to the data to make informed business decisions and implement effective strategiesPerform complex account reconciliations, analysis variances to budget and communicate trends and measuresEvaluate and analyze a variety of financial results and indicators such as IT expenses, capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, operating performance, financial statements, etcSupport IT personnel, and FP& A, with finance related inquiries/requests, including, but not limited to requisitions, purchase orders, SOWs, funding documents and reforecastsPrepare and maintain detailed and comprehensive documentation of processes and proceduresProvide business counseling to cost center owners and managementWith minimal supervision, work in a collaborative and constructive manner with internal stakeholders and various business units to complete tasks with time sensitive deadlinesAssist in business case developmentPerform other duties as assignedConform with all company policies and proceduresPerform special projects and other related duties as assigned/requiredServe as a key contact for IT finance related requests/inquiries/questions, and maintain a high level of expertise in all IT financial aspectsQualifications:KnowledgeStrong working knowledge of data mining and business intelligence tools such as MS Office Suites, SQL, Cognos and SAP Business Planning & ConsolidationWorking knowledge of ERP systems such as (eg Oracle)Solid understanding Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and business practices and concepts, as it relates to IT and the financial industryExperience developing, evaluating and researching requisitions, purchase orders, SOWs and funding documentsWorking knowledge of business processes for supported business groupsStrong knowledge of GM Financial’s core business functionsWorking knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operationsWorking knowledge of finance/accounting principles Identifying and resolving problems by using analytical techniques and innovative approachesExperience developing, evaluating, and researching requisitions, purchase orders, SOWs, and funding documentsExperience working in a financial tool (Apptio experience strongly preferred)Working knowledge/experience with international financials (strongly preferred)SkillsStrong analytical skills, with proven ability to synthesize and analyze large amounts of data, develop insights and recommendations and transform them into easily-understood data visualizations and compelling presentationsIntermediate Excel skills (developing/decoding macros & VBA, pivot tables, charts, financial calculations)Creative and innovative thinker, willing to explore ideas and make impacts, improvements or changeStrong organizational, time management and project management skillsAbility to formulate action plans and timelines and execute plansSelf-motivated, detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines, with minimal supervisionEffective written and oral communication to convey information in a clear and concise mannerAt all times, maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of informationEducationBachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferredExperience2-3 years of experience in a similar role preferredLicensesAdvanced accounting certifications preferred#LI-RMB1
