Robert Half has teamed up with a billion dollar plus investment firm to assist in the recruitment of an Investment Reporting Analyst. The role will support an underwriting team primarily focused on investments in the credit space. Open to CPAs, CFAs and public accounting professionals.

Position Summary: The Investment Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the acquisition of new investments and quarterly financial reporting for current portfolio investments.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct primary and secondary research on governing documents and documentation necessary to support the valuation and resulting advance rate for potential acquisitions of new portfolio investments

• Provide quantitative and analytical support for valuing the existing portfolio of investments comprising the credit collateral during the quarterly financial statement reporting process

• Interface with multiple groups within the firm during each of these processes, including Originations, Risk, and Accounting

• Assist in the development of a proprietary data system that will serve as the repository for investment level history and derivative calculations necessary to monitor the portfolio to comply with internal and regulatory requirements

• Assist Underwriting with ad hoc modelling projects relating to valuation or advance rate analyses

• Develop the knowledge and technical understanding over several cycles to become a candidate for promotion to Underwriting Associate Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

• Ability to review and analyze accounting, financial, investment, and regulatory statements 2

• Strong qualitative skills such as possessing a firm analytical framework for assessing and describing the requirements of a complex task and the detailed steps need to complete it

• Comfortable in a team-oriented environment, with the ability to coordinate data-flow across multiple groups

• High focus on attention to detail and the commitment to produce error free work

• Must have the endurance, grit, and discipline to produce quality deliverables

• Additional qualities: strong communication skills, self-motivated, integrity, intellectual curiosity Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• CPA, or working towards CPA is helpful

• 2+ years as an auditor in public accounting or industry experience in fund administration or financial reporting for investment funds

• Well-developed, or advanced, Excel skills

• Proven instances of coordinating multiple teams through a data-flow process with a demonstrable final product

Job Requirements:
– Analytics experience

– Analysis experience preferred

– Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience recommended)

– Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

– BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

– Excellent communication and organizational skills

– Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus

– Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

– Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

– Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
