IT Financial Analyst

This is a Full-time position in Dallas, TX posted August 30, 2021.

The IT Financial Analyst will analyze and provide cost transparency and liaison between IT and Accounting, utilizing multiple systems (including, but not limited to) SAP and Microsoft Project Online(MSPO)/One Plan.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
• Creating, monitoring and reporting against a robust IT Company-wide budget for both on-going operations and project spend.
• Maintain a forecasting process for all on going spend and project work in alignment with agreed budgets.
• Providing financial recommendation (risks / opportunities) for the IT spend patterns gleaned from both historical and prospective views via dashboards.
• Building a set of monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive performance improvement ideas by identified IT PMO disciplines.
• Provide guidance to the CIO and Manager, PMO regarding cost trends and year end projections to allow proper allocation of resources.
• Track and provide both Failure Mode and Event Analysis (FMEA) on highly sensitive projects and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on actions outside of control parameters.
• Collaborate with Manager, PMO to create and improve the training programs of the IT department in order to maintain certification and continuous improvement for cost transparency.
• Simplify complex financial data into an actionable plan and roadmap.
• Interface with project leaders to assess the financial viability of competing programs.
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting and reporting or related with at least 2 years working in an IT department or working in a role that supports IT cost analysis and reporting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high comfort level in communicating to senior executives.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
CPA preferred.

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, specifically in MS. Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with cost reporting and presentation tools. Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Previous project management experience.
