Project Finance Paralegal

This is a Contract position in Conroe, TX posted August 17, 2021.

Overview: Our Project Finance Paralegal has significant responsibility as part of our Energy Industry Team.

This person must be energetic, detail-oriented, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and understand the cycle of a transaction.

Should be a proactive self-starter with demonstrated experience maintaining high-quality work products in a fast-paced environment with time constraints.

Strong writing and proofreading skills, oral communication skills, research, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.Must have prior experience as a paralegal in project finance, commercial real estate transactions, or corporate law; demonstrated written and oral communication skills, advanced level of technical proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, and document management systems.

Responsibilities: Directly support and/or lead checklist conference calls; track tasks and phases of projects and communicate progress to teams.Review land survey and site plans; review and summarize title work, underlying title documents and surveys; negotiate directly with developers on title curative actions, and advise project teams.Manage collection and high-level review of environmental and regulatory due diligence, and due diligence documents.Prepare draft real estate and transactional documents, such as leases, easements, SNDAs and other legal contracts.Lead in working with title companies and surveyors to finalize and resolve issues and discrepancies in advance of closings.Prepare and file required documents for corporate entity formations and various corporate legal documents.Manage and finalize high volume of exhibits and schedules to agreements, for conformation to comments, and delivery to parties.

Qualifications: Minimum of three (3) years experience as a paralegal in a law firm setting, or in a professional setting supporting a project finance group.

Experience in commercial real estate, title and survey, project finance, or corporate finance.Bachelors degree required, and paralegal training or certification preferred.Ability to work independently; plan and take initiative to accomplish objectives in a timely manner with minimum supervision.Strong time management skills, and motivated to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.Significant working knowledge of procedures and required documents relating to corporate entity formations and corporate records.Must be able to work overtime, when needed.
