Job Description

The Staff Accountant will take ownership of key accounting functions, including leading the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, managing inventory recording, developing and running recurring management reports, and fulfilling tasks required from external audits.

The Staff Accountant will also work alongside our Controller and CFO on strategic finance responsibilities such as establishing and monitoring KPI’s, budgeting and forecasting, and strategic planning.

In general, we are looking for a professional that can grow in their position as our company increases in size.

The day-to-day responsibilities cover the accounting duties required for a food manufacturing business.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

Plant Duties:

· Work collaboratively with Plant Management Team and Corporate Accounting to ensure accounting needs of the plant site are met.

· Attend key plant operations meetings including but not limited Daily Manufacturing KPI review meetings, purchasing reviews, inventory, and receiving meetings, etc.

· Assist with month-end analysis and variance explanations; ensuring proper cut-off and reconciling variances; reviewing trial balance for accuracy.

· Assist with financial reporting on a routine and ad hoc basis to a variety of stakeholder groups on key performance indicators relevant to manufacturing cost and financial performance of the plant site.

· Assist manufacturing leaders in identifying and troubleshooting manufacturing cost issues.

· Assist with all aspects of inventory management and reconciliation.

· Assists with Standard costing process.

AP Duties:

· Complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices (3 way matching).

· Appropriately charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports.

· Audit employee expense reports prior to submitting for approval.

· Run and analyze accounts payable aging reports ensuring all documentation is received, recorded and saved prior to submitting for approval and payment to CFO.

General Accounting Duties:

· Reconcile bank statements.

· Maintains historical data by scanning and filing documents.

· Assist with month-end close functions.

· Initiate journal entries.

· Calculate period-end accruals for payroll, paid time off, and subsequent liabilities

· Maintain fixed asset ledger, including the receipt and disposition of fixed assets, and calculate recurring

· depreciation

· Sales tax and other regulatory filings experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

· 3+ years of experience in public accounting or working in corporate accounting environment
Must have worked with ERP systems; NetSuite a plus Cost accounting experience a plus Must have inventory management experience CPA license a plus Must be able to pass a background check

Pay: $50,000.00
– $55,000.00 per year
