Staff Accountant

SUMMARY OF POSITION Performs various accounting functions assisting the Senior Accountant and Plant Controller with oversight as well as support for ePac’s accounting and financial reporting.

This position will also provide the opportunity for independent initiative and judgment to improve accounting processes, procedures, and growth in a corporate accounting environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Interact with all levels of business partners and establish yourself as a reliable associate + High degree of accuracy in the processing of disbursements + Facilitate vendor payment process + Assist with month end close process including preparation and posting of journal entries + Reconcile select balance sheet accounts + Assist with defining accounting processes and documenting procedures + Analyze monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, variances to forecast, and reconciliation of various accounts, fixed asset administration, and various employee benefit accounting + Support AP and AR processes + Maintain various spreadsheets via Google Sheets to support financial transactions and analyze various expenses + Bank reconciliations.

+ Assist in preparation of audit work papers for year-end audits with outside auditors + Respond to internal and external customer requests as appropriate + Assist the company in implementing and executing company policies and compliance procedures + Other corporate accounting duties or supervision of duties as assigned + Assist in developing policies and procedures to improve ePac’s operations and transparency in reporting + Perform other duties as assigned JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES + Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently + Detail-oriented and demonstrates a “can-do” positive attitude + Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment + Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or reprioritization of projects + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Excellent spreadsheet skills.

Understanding concepts of databases, filtering data, use of mathematical, logical, statistical and financial functions a plus + Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus + Experience with SAP Concur a plus + Corporate accounting experience a plus + Must be able to adapt to an ever-evolving technology landscape EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION + BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.

+ 2+ years experience with significant accounting responsibilities WORK ENVIRONMENT .
