– Senior Director of Financial Aid

The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), a top value R1 public university located in one of the nation’s fastest-growing metropolitan regions, seeks a new senior director of financial aid.

Reporting to the vice president for academic affairs and provost, the senior director of financial aid will lead a team charged with administering a financial aid program consisting of federal, state and institutional funds that exceed $140 million annually.

They will serve as a day-to-day leader in helping to achieve the university’s ambitious enrollment growth goals.

As a member of a top public university, the senior director of financial aid will navigate a large, complex, and service-oriented operation.

A deep understanding of the financial aid landscape and its ongoing changes, and an ability to adapt a strategy to accommodate those developments, will be fundamental to success and will be foundational qualities for the next leader.

UT Dallas is a highly collaborative environment, and the successful candidate will be a generous and diplomatic communicator who excels at bringing stakeholders together.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and a skilled relationship manager who develops connections with faculty, deans, administrative staff, university leadership, and current students.

The senior director oversees an office consisting of 32 staff and is responsible for day-to-day operations as well as collaborating on strategy.

The successful candidate will possess a strategic understanding of the integral role of student financial aid in supporting student enrollment, student success, and student services, and will have knowledge of financial aid trends as they relate to the use and delivery of student financial aid. 

Bachelor’s degree is required Minimum seven years of progressive leadership in the field of financial aid Experience in a large research-intensive university is preferred, as is knowledge of the PeopleSoft system and earned NASFAA certifications
