This is a Full-time position in Texas City, TX posted August 19, 2021.

Job Description Shriners Children’s Texas, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has an opportunity for a full-time or part-time receptionist.

The receptionist is the first impression of the hospital to incoming staff and visitors.

The receptionist operates the hospital’s telephone switchboard system and assists visitors.

Answers the telephone, direct calls, pages, and takes messages.

Greets and directs visitors, processes Fast Pass for visitors, receives donations, types and performs other clerical duties.

Job Requirements Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
– preferred Required Experience: More than 10 years Bilingual (English/Spanish)
– highly preferred Additional Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience performing receptionist and telephone switchboard duties preferred.

Typing 30 wpm accurately and operate calculator by touch preferred.

Proficient computer experience using Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

Previous public contact work desirable and ability to deal with people in a courteous and tactful manner.

Additional Knowledge and Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent verbal communication and writing skills required.

Must be able to observe confidentiality.

Requires in reacting to emergency situations, and directing calls and attention to detail and flexibility in handling a variety of tasks, including but not limited to various clerical tasks.

Job Requirements: Responsibilities: Telephone / Switchboard Processes Answer hospital switchboard telephone promptly and directs call to proper party or paging staff, as directed.

Answers telephone calls clearly and professionally and pages overhead clearly, 100% of the time.

Reception, Donation and Clerical Processes Greets visitors and staff courteously with a smile and directly them to proper personnel, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and security regulations.

Completes Fast Pass process for visitors.

In the absence of Donor Development, receives monetary and material donations and ensures contributor completes donation acknowledgement form accurately.

Notifies Donor Development promptly of large donated items to be picked up to keep reception area clutter free, at all times.

Reception Pool Coverage Training reception pool staff on all processes and/or procedures thoroughly, 100% of the time and informing staff of any changes in procedures/processes, at all times.

Ensuring reception pool staff can perform all functions independently, 100% of the time.
