General Machine Operator

Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Production Operator for our Polyurethanes Division at our Port of Houston plant.

Thorough adherence to all established Operational and EH&S policies, procedures, and practices and performs all operational tasks necessary and required by a Operator Trainee.

What will be expected from you?

With little supervision and independent decision-making:

• Performs necessary work of an Operator Trainee of the outside operation of operating, startup and shutdown of process equipment for the production of quality and on-spec products
• Maintains current, detailed knowledge and understanding required of an Operator B of process unit equipment, unit operations, principles or operating methods used in the process and the effects of such operations on equipment involved
• Makes periodic rounds of units, checking and/or adjusting process equipment to ensure proper operation, draws product samples for laboratory analysis and based on laboratory analysis makes necessary changes in operating conditions
• Able to understand and perform all necessary procedural protocols for all plant tasks
• Completes loading and offloading of material from different types of trucks and railcars
• Completes reports and records data such as charts, operating data, Work Orders, and Safe Work Permits, using prescribed forms
• Maintains good housekeeping habits to ensure the cleanliness, neatness, and order of work area and equipment
• Monitors the safe handling, identification, storage, and removal of waste streams resulting from production activities
• Completes all training assignments as assigned
• Participates in site safety and environmental programs
• Begins Operator C training progression

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

• Associates Degree in Process Technology and 1+ years of related experience
• Associates Degree can be substitutes with a high school diploma and 2+ years’ related experience
