Technical Sales Engineer & Support

This is a Full-time position in Austin, TX posted April 30, 2021.

Summary of essential job function:
Follow company safety procedures, with a focus on safe driving and construction site safety.

Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, salesmen, and contractors to increase company sales/margin dollars on specialty ceiling products.

Analyze construction drawings and work with vendors to prepare specialty product proposals for our sales staff and their customers.

Work with our sales staff and customers to follow up on proposals and close the business.

Track projects using an organized system to determine won or lost status.

Manage closed project work from order through installation.

Act as a liaison between vendors, purchasers, salesmen, and contractors to ensure a quality installation.

Communicate in a professional and clear manner.

Promote the value of doing business with our company – safety, service, sales excellence.

Work with the AR Department, sales, and customers to set payment terms that minimize company risk while still closing the sale.

Represent the company and self in a professional manner.

Technical support and sales duties should be done ethically.

Follow all company policies related to ethics, integrity, and good character
Additional requirements:
Candidate must be able to read and interpret construction drawings.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.

Common sense is required
Candidate must be proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Acrobat
Spanish speaking and CAD experience are not required but considered a plus.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in stationary position 50%
Frequently, will move about inside the office and distribution centers
Must be able to operate basic office machinery
Must be able to communicate with employees and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Constantly working in office and warehouse environment
Must be able to identify safety and maintenance concerns
Must be able to work long hours if need be
Mental Demands:
Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks
Must be able to manage stress depending on situations that occur at different yard locations
Must be able to multitask
Must be able analyze
Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur
Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement and initiative
