We are seeking a Value Stream Manager for our Waco, TX facility.

– Support is responsible for managing people, operations and systems related to Procurement, Production & Materials Planning, Inbound and Outbound Product Flows, Customer Service and Distribution Center Continuity.

Will also manage certain Q&FS processes, including Quality Conformance, the site GMP program including Sanitation and Pest Control, and Sample collection and swabbing.

In sites with production and export of Industrial Products, locomotive, and rail car processing and/or off-site warehouse storage, these responsibilities would also fall within the scope for the VSM
– Support.

In some cases, the VSM
– Support may also manage finished goods production; however, only as an option when needing to balance workload and as approved by the Regional P&O Director, and not in cases where the VSM Support is responsible for the production and export of Industrial Products.

– Support leads a team of 6
– 14 direct reports and is a key member of the Site Leadership Team.

What would be your key responsibilities?
Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory levels on raw materials, factory supplies, packaging materials, and/or industrial products to meet the production demands.Manage the Inbound and Outbound Operations teams for receiving and safe storage of raw materials and packaging.

Will also manage plant scheduler functions ensuring production schedules are maintained to optimize customer service and site PCC.Recommend and implement improvements to methods, equipment, systems and organization as needed to ensure that the objectives of the area and plant are met.Directly and indirectly manage the daily logistics functions for producing and shipping finished products.

This includes analyzing production demands in SAP, ensuring production planning is adhering to those demands, and that production departments are producing finished products on time to meet run schedule.Oversees the procurement of facility services, parts and supplies.

This responsibility includes evaluating vendors, recommending changes to contracts and then ensuring services, parts and supplies are purchased at the right levels, delivered on time and purchased at the most economical price.Manage quality release process for all raw ingredients and packaging materials in partnership with Q&FS.

Will also manage certain Q&FS processes, including Quality Conformance, the site GMP program including Sanitation and Pest Control, and Sample collection and swabbing.Works closely with the Regional and Global Procurement group as a technical resource for annual ingredient contracts, supply and demand issues.

The incumbent is also responsible for identifying new suppliers, resolving issues with supplier performance, negotiating pricing and building supplier relationships.Provide overall direction to direct reports as well as evaluations of their performance versus job requirements.

As a member of the Leadership Team provides leadership and on-going strategic planning, organizational development and focus on meeting the short
– and long-term goals.Manage the planning, manufacturing, and distribution of core components utilized by Value Stream processes.

Examples could include chocolate (K10, Crumb, etc.), chocolate liquor, milk batching, peanut roasting, liquid sucrose, gum base, gum pellet, etc.Manage Industrial Products storage, preparation, and distribution to consuming facilities.

This may include export requirements to international locations.Performs special assignments for the Factory Director on request.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in one of the engineering, basic sciences or business-related disciplinesKnowledge of SAP and able to lead others in troubleshooting system issues and discrepancies5 years progressive procurement or materials management experience in a production, manufacturing or distribution environmentAt least 3 years direct people management experience; Experience as a Manager of Managers is preferredProven track record of building strong business relationships, solving problems with a sense of urgency, and the ability to work well with associates at any level.Exceptional communication abilities in order to work effectively with numerous internal departments and external resourcesDemonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills
