Planning business has seen consistent growth driven by our clients’ needs to address challenges stemming from population growth, aging infrastructure, system reliability and resilience concerns, the need to improve operational efficiency, water quality regulations, and the use of “big data” to help guide decision making.

This position represents a strategic business opportunity for Black & Veatch’s Planning team to help the company grow its market share by providing world-class water transmission/distribution hydraulic modeling and planning services.**Position Overview**+ Provide technical solutions and differentiation for the Planning team focused on water transmission and distribution systems+ Use of cutting-edge hydraulic modeling, GIS, and business intelligence software to solve client issues+ Lead and mentor other professionals with the use of hydraulic modeling software and other system planning tools+ Perform and manage hydraulic transient (surge) modeling studies+ Evaluation of water system demands including non-revenue water, demand management and conservation planning, and future projections+ Integration of Condition Assessment and Asset Management data to support replacement & renewal planning+ Manage water modeling and planning projects+ Collaborate with B&V client directors to Lead Planning business development in Texas and support business development, proposal, and project interview activities nationally+ Leverage and build relationships with key clients in Texas and decision makers across North America+ Help lead the Distribution & Collection System Planning Community of Practice**Preferred Qualifications**+ Experience with technical and thought leadership surrounding water transmission/distribution systems+ Experience in technical and sales client-facing roles+ 20+ years of infrastructure hydraulic modeling and planning project experience+ Experience leading project teams and executing water system studies and implementation projects that involve system operations modeling, optimization techniques, risk & resiliency evaluations, capital and life-cycle cost analyses, CIP prioritization, etc+ Experience in developing proposals and leading technical discussions during client interviews/projects+ Lead and manage technical work on water system modeling and planning studies:+ Capital Improvement Program (CIP) planning and optimization+ Evaluating distribution system water quality+ Planning water distribution systems+ Analyzing historical demands/flows and preparing future demand/flow projections+ Pumping and storage capacity analyses+ ARM/AMI data analyses Integrated water resource planning+ Financial analyses and projections+ Proficient with report writing, PowerPoint presentations, data analyses, analytics, and visualization+ Experience and/or familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and software (i.e.

ArcGIS)+ Familiarity with dynamic business intelligence software such as PowerBI or Tableau+ Experience and/or familiarity with hydraulic modeling software such as: WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks, EPANet**Minimum Qualifications**Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.

Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
