Mekky Media is currently looking for a talented PR Senior Account Executive to support a variety of accounts and grow into a leadership role.

If this is you, keep reading OVERVIEW The full-time Senior Account Executive will oversee day-to-day strategies as account lead, as well as serve as support and contribute to a variety of accounts under managers.

This role will work with the team on PR initiatives for Mekky Media PR clients, including writing and reviewing press materials, pitching stories and coordinating outreach initiatives, as well as drafting strategy and direction on accounts collaboratively with senior team members.

The ideal candidate will be highly creative, organized and results-driven, with a deep understanding of how the traditional and nontraditional media operates.

RESPONSIBILITIES Manage daily activities on accounts, including: Oversee deliverables with account support Ensuring media placements are being secured Keeping media materials are current Ensuring pitches are timely and relevant to current media cycles The team is following the communications strategy and meeting goals Monitoring news cycles, agency industries, client competitors and target media markets and reporters Manage trackers, media lists and reports Serve as day-to-day contact for media and clients Write/review press releases, media alerts, photo captions, media pitches, biographies, press kits and other media materials Implement strategies and problem solve with team and clients Secure consistent and quality media placements with active pitching Maintain client relations through meetings, conference calls, events, general contact Prepare meeting agendas, notes, reports with support team Attend and organize events as needed Provide support and assist with developing strategic and creative PR initiatives Develop and maintain solid media relationships with journalists, bloggers and social media influencers Monitor and engage on behalf of clients in digital media space as appropriate Maintain media lists and pitch regularly Build monthly reports for clients Manage social media for the agency and craft content when needed Work as a right-hand to Account Manager and Senior Leaders REQUIREMENTS Minimum three to five years post-grad related experience required in communications.

Agency experience is preferred.

BA or BS in related field Chicago-based Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience pitching local and national media contacts Proficient in AP style Proficiency using MS Office Suite, Google Drive, Cision, MuckRack and other PR data services.

Working knowledge of social networks and ability to assist clients and the social team with developing strategies on these platforms as needed Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills Strong strategic planning abilities and critical thinking skills Strong attention to detail and follow through skills Strong organization and time management skills Must have a solid understanding of all forms of media Must be able to work well under pressure and when facing tight deadlines Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Ability to adapt to changing environments Comfortable working remotely and in an office environment Thrives in a fast-paced environment and able to make sound decisions without a lot of direction Willing to travel as needed for client work and new business Positive, enthusiastic get-the-job done attitude BENEFITS Unlimited PTO 401k Medical, dental and vision benefits Hybrid business model Quarterly wellness events and regular luncheons and happy hours
