Senior Public Relations Manager

Lenovo

This is a Full-time position in Dallas, TX posted August 24, 2021.

What You’ll Do: The Senior Manager of Public Relations is responsible for driving a global Public Relations strategy for Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), inclusive of technology media as well as mainstream business press.

The scope of the role includes, but is not limited to, journalists and influencers following server, storage, networking, cloud and converged infrastructure technologies.

The position reports directly to the Director, ISG Communications & Digital.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished PR professional to build the reputation, market confidence and brand strength of a rising challenger in the Data Center market.

In the process, the successful candidate will play a leading role in defining and building the organization’s external communications strategy and capabilities.

Leveraging deep understanding of technologies, business and market trends, this role will be responsible for creating and evangelizing clear, compelling stories to drive favorable press coverage of Lenovo, our ISG strategy and the innovation we are bringing to market.

Finally, the position will be responsible for planning and executing media/influencer engagements at key Lenovo and industry events, as well as working collaboratively with the ISG senior leadership team, marketing and corporate colleagues.

Responsibilities Include: Press/Key Influencer engagement
• Proven ability to build and maintain influential relationships with target media
• Work closely with peers in Analyst Relations, Investor Relations, Solutions Marketing and Social Media to tell the Lenovo story and maximize impact across all channels
• Coach and prepare executives/teams for media/influencer interactions
• Collaborate with Corporate Communications team in planning and execution of corporate initiatives Program planning, execution and measurement
• Build and define strategic list of industry and general business media and influencers.

Drive targeted media program focused on those influencers.

• Create and execute a comprehensive PR plan to maximize Lenovo coverage and drive favorable perception with target media / influencers
• Manage the PR budget and direct the activities of PR agency
• Develop a clear set of objectives and key performance indicators for the Public Relations team
• Measure results and regularly update management on media impact Position Requirements:
• 5 years of direct experience working in public relations and/or corporate communications; a mix of agency and corporate experience preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in or with high technology companies; Data Center experience a plus
• Demonstrable record of building productive relationships with press / influencers
• Strong project management and communications skills
• Must have proven ability to manage key business stakeholders across a variety of situations and issues
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism; MBA is desirable Desired Qualities:
• Enthusiasm for storytelling and ability to drive innovative communications strategies with impact
• Confidence and leadership abilities necessary to work directly with executive leadership team
• Comfortable driving projects end-to-end, from strategy through hands-on execution
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing business environment, sometimes with high degree of ambiguity
• Collaborative nature with the flexibility to work across a complex, global organization If youre based in the Raleigh, NC area that is ideal but were also open to qualified PR professionals to work remotely.
