The Director, Project Management directs and manages Real Estate Project Management staff in providing quality, professional construction project management services to Baylor Scott & White Health.

Manages and directs assigned staff to create and maintain an optimal work environment.

Plans, organizes, coordinates and implements all aspects of construction projects.

Manages the activities of the Real Estate Project Management department to ensure its effective operations.

Prepares, administers, and monitors department budgets to maintain financial viability.

Manages and directs assigned staff to create and maintain an optimal work environment Effectively coordinates and administers personnel policies and procedures in conjunction with selection, orientation, training, assignment, staffing, evaluation, disciplining and discharging employees according to BSWH policies, standard practices and in compliance with state and federal labor laws.

Establishes a climate that reduces obstacles and allows and promotes staff to formulate and practice own initiatives and perform at maximum achievement level.

Identifies and provides opportunities for the staff to develop knowledge, skills and abilities needed to contribute to the success of the department.

Plans, organizes, coordinates and implements all aspects of construction projects Ensures the quality programming, and design and construction of requested construction projects including oversight of all capital related elements.

Negotiates effectively with and monitors the work of outside consultants and vendors during all phases of the projects.

Solicits and receives bids for all construction projects in accordance to established guidelines.

Ensures that projects proceed in a timely, accurate, well-documented and cost-efficient manner and in compliance with established policies, procedures, and practices.

Manages the activities of the Real Estate Project Management to ensure its effective operations Proposes and participates in strategic planning as well as it relates to the department and to the institution as a whole.

Establishes necessary department specific policies and procedures that support and advance department objectives.

Ensures that department policies, procedures and practices comply with BSWH policies and procedures.

Ensures professional and ethical behavior of subordinates following established policies as outlined in BSWH Guiding Business Principles.

Prepares, administers, and monitors department and project budgets to maintain financial viability Prepares and recommends effective budgets to cover the projected costs of staffing, equipment and supplies needed to maintain quality and safe patient care.

Manages the day-to-day department operations and cash flow in compliance with the approved budget.

Prepares timely and accurate financial, statistical and tracking reports with clear interpretation as require using BSWH project management software, Projecto.

#LI-HK1*REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:* Bachelor’s degree preferred 7-10 years experience in Acute Care Hospital Environment preferred.

Managerial experience in design and construction of medical facilities required.
