The Director of Clinical Education for home health & hospice (RN BSN) will be responsible for the overall design, planning, organization and directing of clinical education and orientation throughout the company, including on Cornerstone LMS. The Director will collaborate with the appropriate subject matter experts to strategically develop and deliver new and existing clinical curricula for all disciplines.
A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) and a master’s degree in a related field is required. The Director of Clinical Education must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas and must have at least 5 years of experience in adult education or post-secondary education.
It is essential for the person in this role to have previous home health and hospice experience with extensive knowledge of CMS conditions of participation.
- Oversee the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education and clinical orientation programs for all disciplines.
- Ensure all new and existing processes and curricula remain current, comprehensive, include evidence-based practice guidelines, and are in accordance with federal and state regulations and laws, and company policies.
- Design and implement skills fairs for all branches to review skills and learn and integrate new skills.
- Ensure orientation material remains current, particularly from a clinical and regulatory perspective; provide periodic reviews of the branch supervisor orientation material and coordinate updates appropriately.
- Foster and create a professional development atmosphere of coaching, growth, and cooperation by acting as a liaison between the clinical education department and all other Enhabit departments and leaders.
- Serve as a presenter, facilitator, and back-up presenter for virtual and live courses.
- Identify needs for company-wide clinical training; ensure education provided is coordinated with the appropriate departments.
- Evaluate and recommend efficient solutions in regard to clinical education delivery; collaborate with clinical and operational leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Master’s degree in related field is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in adult education or post-secondary education
- Must have previous experience teaching and training in a live classroom and virtual classroom.
- Competency in instructional design and adult learning strategies is required.
- Experience in home health and hospice is required.
- Must have extensive demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the federal, state, and local laws and regulatory guidelines that govern a home care and hospice operations.
- Knowledge of CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) home health and hospice conditions of participation is required.
- Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to project positive energy as an educator or facilitator.
- Must have demonstrated experience in assessing, developing, and delivering effective clinical education initiatives to diverse groups using adult learning strategies.
- Experience in Microsoft office suite, especially PowerPoint, is required.
- Knowledge of learning management software required.
