Electronic Health Record (EHR) Specialist

This is a Full-time position in Dallas, TX posted June 2, 2021.

The Electronic Health Record Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality end-user support, end-user training, and advanced troubleshooting.

This role balances numerous priorities across multiple channels, including email, instant messaging, and in-person requests.
Education : Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Computer Information Systems, Health Information Technology, or related filed.

Education can be substituted with equivalent work experience.

Specialized Training/Certifications/Licenses : NextGen EHR Certification preferred Experience : 2 yrs.

minimum working with end-user services, software-related business, or similar experience.

Knowledge: Broad technology background (e.g.

SQL query generation, Active Directory, proprietary software troubleshooting, and data analysis).

Skills : Computer Literacy Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Database) Critical Thinking Problem Solving Confidentiality Effective Communication Self-Management Abilities : Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.

Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

unassisted Other : Must obtain NextGen EHR Certification within the first 12 months of employment.

Must have flexibility with work schedule May require some local travel between different clinic locations.

Must be able to maintain required immunizations as required by the organization.

Job Requirements:

· Tests, maintains, and monitors computer programs and systems related to employee health records (EHR).

· Provides Help Desk technical support to end-users based on assigned tickets and telephone calls.

· Appropriately manages and handles support cases (e.g.

troubleshooting, creation of custom solutions, documenting software defects, and providing instruction to the end-user.)

· Resolves end-user concerns raised during installation, operation, maintenance, or product application or compatibility matters.

· Assists with the planning of interface projects (e.g.

vendor management, scope of work, project timeline).

· Collaborates with EHR technical experts for support, upgrades, interfaces, and all other aspects in the utilization of such system.

· Coordinates and links the computer systems and technology throughout the organization.

· Monitors and expands system usage to meet and improve workflow.

· Develops EHR training to effectively impact the adoption, use, and engagement of provider and line staff users.

Uses a dynamic approach that adapts to each user group, delivering training that is technically appropriate for the group or individual.

· Works with department leads to ensure uniformity in the distribution of technical training among staff in similar roles or positions.

· Delivers training in both formal (e.g.

classroom), or informal (e.g.

in the clinic) settings to new hires and existing staff on interfaces/applications and optimal workflows related to the EHR system.

· Works to disseminate information vital to user functionality in a manner that is easy to understand.

· Provides staff and users with assistance to solve EHR related problems.

· Develops how-to documents on relevant applications based on user feedback.

· Maintains up-to-date knowledge on application systems currently in use through research into related technical documentation.

· Performs other tasks as required by management.
