Position Summary: Under thegeneral supervision of the unit’s director or designee the CNCassumes responsibility for direction and coordination of allfunctions in the unit on his/her designated shifts.

Incollaboration with other members of the management team, thisindividual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the qualityof patient care services provided in the unit or department.

Willassume leadership responsibility for the management of the unit insupport of the manager/director, including direct supervision of aportion of the unit/department staff, payroll editing, performancereviews, coaching and developing staff, performance management,recognition, and other duties as assigned.

Each CNC on the unitwill have designated responsibilities, that may rotate, within oneor more of the following core areas: a.

Quality, Safety, andRegulatory Preparedness b.

Patient Experience c.

EmployeeEngagement, Physician Satisfaction, and Culture d.

FiscalResponsibility including scheduling, overtime review, and supplymanagement e.

QualificationsRequirements/Qualifications: Education: * Graduate of an accreditedschool of nursing.

* BSN required within 1 year of hire *Certification in specialty required within 1 year.

* Completion ofcharge nurse course required within one year.

* Other leadershiptraining and activity in professional organizations highlypreferred.

Experience: Two (2) years of clinical practice in theCVICU unit and leadership/ management experience is highlypreferred.
