Job Description: Description: The CT Lead Technologist is responsible for coordinating and leading department activities including budget development, equipment quality control and maintenance, inventory, ordering supplies and performance improvement.

The employee is also responsible for leading and evaluating CT staff.

The Lead Technologist is responsible for all functions on a 24/7 basis.Typical Duties:Perform procedure as ordered and obtain images according to written protocols.

Ensure patient procedure and supply charges are correct.Ensures staff compliance with standards of regulatory and accreditation agencies.Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department/modality to include scheduling and coverage of staff.Ensures proper performance of equipment and makes minor repairs and notifies Bio-Med and Manager if equipment requires repairs.Responsible for ensuring patients procedures are provided in a timely manner.

.Accomplishes any reasonable technically oriented task as assigned and responsible for ensuring that the technologist performed all assigned tasks.Perform and document QC on equipment according to manufactures guidelines and/or department protocols; recognizes and takes appropriate action for abnormal results.

(daily, weekly, or monthly) .Perform daily crash cart QA.Demonstrates proficiency in performing all CT imaging procedures at all JPS CT sites.Prepare and set-up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate.Manage the CT quality assurance program, ensuring full compliance with Regulatory Agencies and assists in statistical data gathering as required and assists in developing and/or identifying QA/QI issues and activities with documented outcome.Demonstrates continued commitment of professionalism and growth.Develops and maintains relationships with physicians, nursing, ancillary staff, outside agencies, hospital staff and patients.Explains procedures to patients.

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience:Graduate from AMA approved school or CT Program.4 plus years of related work experience.Preferred Education and Experience :Previous supervisor/lead experience.Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) and CAT Scan (CT).Certified by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologists (MRT).Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, may be obtained within 30 days of hire date.

Must be maintained throughout employment.Maintain yearly venipuncture competency.
