Junior Healthcare Recruiter

Job Summary:

The Recruiter participates in recruitment and staffing initiatives by assisting the HR Manager in developing and coordinating recruitment strategies for geographic regions utilizing the web, networking, job fairs and advertising. Also responsible for providing hiring managers qualified candidates for supervisor / manager level positions throughout the organization.


  • High School Diploma, some college preferred
  • 2+ years experience in full cycle healthcare recruiting
  • Demonstrable experience in healthcare industry recruiting
  • Experience recruiting within skilled nursing or home health preferred
  • Experience sourcing candidates by utilizing websites/job boards, social media, mailings, associations, networking, and cold calling
  • Experience utilizing an applicant tracking system
  • Strong understanding of job description requirements and screening candidates
  • Experience cold calling
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to be multifunctional while meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Experience with nurse and CNA contract staffing preferred

Essential Functions:

    • Meets regularly with HR Manager to assess current and future recruitment and staffing initiatives for the organization as a whole
    • Meets regularly with hiring managers throughout the organization to identify staffing needs for supervisor/manager level positions
    • Candidate sourcing for supervisor/manager level positions throughout the organization
    • Consults with and trains hiring managers on facility level recruitment efforts
    • Ensures open positions are posted utilizing appropriate Job Boards, Social Media or Associations
    • Tracks and reports on all recruiting efforts and open positions
    • Utilizes the applicant tracking system effectively
    • Create and coordinate direct mail advertising
    • Conducts Boolean String searches and various search optimizations
    • Maintains applicant tracking database and dispositions applicants
    • Sources and paper screens potential candidates and forwards resumes to hiring managers
    • Some phone screening of viable candidates
    • Conducts reference checks and requests criminal background checks
    • Verifies credentials, OIG/GSA, work history, education and criminal backgrounds on potential new hires
    • Schedules interviews and coordinates travel arrangements for interviews if necessary
    • Coordinates applicant communications
    • Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost effective sourcing strategies
    • Provides weekly status reports on recruitment activities
    • Performs other duties, as assigned
