Medical Office Insurance AR Representative needed for Allergy & ENT Associates!

Position Summary

This position is responsible for researching, analyzing, and processing insurance claims accurately and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Researches and analyzes denied claims and take corrective action

Submit appeals and reconsiderations on claim rejections, underpayments and denials

Initiates insurance follow up on aged, unresolved claims to ensure maximum reimbursement

Communicates identified payer trends such as denials for specific procedure or diagnosis codes, or other identified issues to management

Researches and responds to documentation requests from insurance carriers in a timely manner

Communicates with patients and necessary parties to resolve issues relating to payment

Submits adjustments to account balances identified through payer remits/EOBs

Applies credits to open lines as needed

Documents clear and concise activities performed in system for each account worked

Maintains assigned AR within departmental guidelines (i.e.

no aging >120 days)

Meets or exceeds collection goals for assigned ARAssist with answering telephone calls, as needed.

Answer patient questions concerning statements in the absence of CBO representative.

Balance daily receipt activity.

Perform individual daily close procedures.

Assist in keeping store room clean and organized for easy access to billing records.

Keep area neat and orderly.

Any other duties as assigned by CBO Manager

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent

Two (2) years of medical office experience needed; at least two (2) years of medical posting experience required

Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding Knowledge of general clerical and office procedures

Must be self-directed and able to work independently

Attention to detail a must

Professional, calm and courteous demeanor

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word

Physical Demands

Physical Activity Level: Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature

Physical Demands: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects; Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner Work Environment

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation; Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic), daily stair climbing; Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with regular working hours; Occasional overtime may be required.

Time Off requests at end of month should be avoided and will be reviewed on a case by case request.
