Overview: Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) offers a variety of cancer treatment options including radiation oncology.

Radiation therapy, or radiation oncology, is quicker, safer and more precise than ever before.

Radiation oncologists at CCCN use the most advanced treatment planning systems and state-of-the-art radiation technology to deliver internal and external radiation that helps prevent cancerous cells from growing or dividing, and potentially eliminates them.

Career Opportunity:Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Nuclear Med Tech at our Twain clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful health care organization.

Scope: Under general supervision, prepares radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physician’s orders.

Operates scintillation detection equipment to measure isotope concentrations and scanners to record visual representations of the isotope concentrations in specific body areas of the patient.

Performs laboratory tests on body specimens.

Computes results of laboratory tests.

Keeps records of tests conducted, test results, and disposition of isotopes and body products containing isotopes.

Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians ordersOperates scintillation detection equipment to measure isotope concentrations and scanners to record visual representations of the isotope concentrations in specific body areas of the patientConducts scans on patients with radioactive isotopes in order to provide diagnostic aid to physiciansAdministers isotope dosage and records dosage administered following established departmental procedures.

Observes patient during procedures and reports unusual occurrences to appropriate personnelKeeps records of tests conducted, test results, and disposition of isotopes and body products containing isotopesOffers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional/modified studies, etc.Logs nuclear medicine procedures completed.

Processes routine paperwork.

Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standardsEnsures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologists care Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an accredited school Minimum zero to three years experience as Nuclear Med TechCertified as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT) or N.M.T.C.B requiredCT certification preferred; will train for CT if neededCurrent IV and CPR certification requiredSuccessful candidates will thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and have a passion for caring for their patients.
