Joseph Health Regional Hospital is located in Bryan, TX and is the highest-level major trauma center in the Brazos Valley.

As a level II trauma center with over 220 beds, CHI St.

Joseph Health Regional Hospital is the most experienced in the region and backed 24/7 by trauma surgeons and specialists in orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, facial and plastic surgery, anesthesiology, radiology, critical care and more.

The trauma nurse assists in promoting optional care to the injured patient through all clinical activities, professional and public education, injury prevention, and performance improvement and patient safety.

Responsibilities The trauma nurse acts as a resource person to all patient care areas regarding nursing care as related to trauma patients.

Functions as the liaison for trauma care by maintaining effective lines of communication with all concerned parties.

* Coordinates and facilities the review of all trauma patients to identify trauma admissions, deaths and transfers.

Reviews trauma patient care for all patients meeting quality indicators* Ensures the standard quality of care is being delivered for all trauma patients.* Coordinates necessary education to improve trauma care.* Ensures accurate data is accumulated for administrative reporting.

Ensures trauma registry meets the standard set forth by the state of Texas and the National Trauma Data Bank.

Qualifications Required * Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in Texas* Graduate of an accredited nursing program: Associates Degree in Nursing* Basic Life Support (BLS) required Preferred * 1 year of Registered Nurse experience preferred* Specialty certification (ex: CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred* Previous emergency department (ED) and critical care (ICU) experience highly preferred* Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas Your time at work should be fulfilling.
