Pharmacy Technician

Jordan Pharmacy, Inc. is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. We are a great group of professional people who work well together and always help each other when needed. We care about our customers and go the extra mile for them. Some extra services we provide are: filing Medicare Part B for diabetic supplies, nebulizer’s and supplies, and transplant medication. We give vaccinations, provide specialty compounding for medication forms not commercially made. We have an extensive OTC, First Aid, & Natural & Herbal Medication Department. We have a large gift department and provide wedding and baby registries for our customers. Most fun of all is our Old Fashioned Soda Fountain where we serve Henry’s Homemade Ice Cream, Milkshakes, & Malts. We also sell Old Fashioned Soda’s from Dublin Bottling Works (home of Dr. Pepper). For those who crave chocolate, we have that too. As mentioned previously, the entire Jordan Pharmacy team pitches in to make all of these areas work and help our customers in any way possible to make their visit enjoyable. There is never a dull moment and the day goes by quickly!

Pharmacy Technician:

We are looking to hire a Pharmacy Technician to be responsible for handling customer transactions and inventory at our pharmacy. You will be dispensing both prescription and over the counter medicine to customers. You will also be responsible for checking and evaluating written prescriptions, as well as recording and verifying patient information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations.

In order to be a successful candidate, you must display excellent communication skills and an affinity for great customer service. You must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced work environment.

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities:

  • Accepting written prescriptions or refill requests from patients and evaluating information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Recording medical histories while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Delivering quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests, and referring them to the pharmacist for medical information.
  • Verifying the accuracy of patient information.
  • Counting prescription medication, filling prescriptions, and typing and attaching medication labels.
  • Performing inventory audits and purchasing supplies and medication.
  • Process patient insurance.

Pharmacy Technician Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A pharmacy technician certification.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to use a computer for day-to-day tasks.
  • Basic math skills for counting medications.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment.

Each Applicant must pass an extensive background check and will at anytime give a drug test. They also must have a great work ethic. What we do not tolerate: The inability to manage ones personal life, excessive absences, tardiness, drama, lying, stealing, cheating. We cannot hire people with past drug history via our choice and the State Board of Pharmacy.
