Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is a 439-bed acutecare facility that has provided quality care to the Lake Houston area for over25 years. It is home to the area’s only comprehensive cardiac, neuroscience andwomen services programs. Our Women & Children’s Center provides Level IIand III neonatal intensive care units, high-risk obstetrics, a breastdiagnostic center, a designated pediatric unit, and the area’s only pediatricemergency department.


HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is affiliated with HCA HoustonHealthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is acomprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergencycenters and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christiand South Texas. Facilities include 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers,13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluatingcare for assigned patients in the NICU and Newborn Nursery.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies andprocedures or the NICU that guide and support the provision of services
  • Responsible for meeting the standards of Practice for a Level IIand Level III NICU and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment.
  • Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improvethe quality of patient care.
  • Performs neonatal assessment of Level II/III NICU patients andNewborn Nursery patients.
  • Performs nursing care of Level II/III NICU patients and NewbornNursery patients.
  • Performs gestational age assessments.
  • Demonstrates appropriate usage and understanding of equipment usedin the department.
  • Participates in mandatory unit education activities
  • Participates in the discharge process to include parent teaching


What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current TX Licensure as an RN.  
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
  • STABLE within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 3-5 yearsLevel 3 NICU experience required.
