Registered Nurse (RN) Staffing $40-45/hr

Interim Healthcare - Houston

This is a Contract position in Hufsmith, TX posted March 22, 2022.

Interim HealthCare of Houston is excited to add caring, compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) to our winning team to help staff at local facilities. We support several facilities in Houston and surrounding areas with hours that vary from days, evenings and overnights. Be able to start right away and can turn into permanent position if employer and employee feel like it’s a good fit. 

Looking PRN to Part-Time to Full Time – Bi-Weekly Pay!! 
 

Requirements:

• Registered/licensed RN in the state of TX, must maintain licensure.
• 1 year experience in managing people, management of paraprofessionals preferred.
• 1 year experience working with elderly, preferably providing personal care in AL or nursing home.
• Ability to use computers/software applications (Word, Excel), ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
• Knowledge of healthcare, dementia/aging issues and using specialized medical terminology.
• Must be punctual, flexible/adaptable, compassionate, interpersonal, and a team player.
• Must be able to report any needs of supplies/repairs to the Executive Director, and any report any resident changes to immediate supervisor.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and drug screen.
• Ability to communicate verbally and written in English.
• Charting in electronic medical records system.
• Must follow facility dress code and maintain good hygiene/grooming.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Complete initial assessment of potential residents and complete health assessment within 5 days of admission.
• Implement service agreements for new residents within 14 days and revise service plans as needed every 90 days.
• Assure residents maintain criteria and have up to date care plans, recommend alternative placement if necessary.
• Monitor resident charts and clinical progress notes, communicate changes to physicians and other personnel.
• Ordering and following up on medications, fill weekly pill boxes, ensure that medication administration procedures are followed properly.
• Communicate information staff need to be aware of, and attend monthly staff meetings.
• Assure staff clearly understand/follow resident care procedures and monitor accuracy of vitals. Available for on-call medical questions/emergencies via phone.
• Promote a positive, team approach and a healthy work environment that is flexible to changes in the AL industry.

Language Skills/Physical Demands:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and documentation on each resident.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, residents and other employees.
• Frequently required to stand, bend or walk. Occasionally required to lift, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Exposed to bodily fluids, infections, odors and behaviors of residents.
• Must regularly lift/move up to 20 pounds, must occasionally lift/move supplies, equipment and materials up to 35-40 pounds.
