Registered Nurse – Trauma Coordinator

Trauma Service Coordinator Registered Nurse – Full-time Day Shift (No Weekends)

TheTrauma Coordinator RNhelps coordinate the administrative and clinical aspects of the trauma program and serves as a central point of reference for information about all trauma patients. In collaboration with the Trauma Services Director and Trauma Medical Director, the Trauma Coordinator assures clinical progression toward defined quality outcomes and system efficiencies and ensures criteria for trauma designation is maintained.

• Responsible for daily management of the Trauma Performance Improvement Program including data analysis, identification of trends and issues, medical record extrapolation, and data entry for the trauma registry, and development and implementation of action plans to address identified issues

• Responsible for the daily management of Trauma Care throughout the facility ensuring care is consistent with established practice standards and research based policy/procedures

• Responsible for ensuring loop closure, including development and implementation of action plans, is obtained on identified PI issues and trends by collaborating with clinical leaders of departments caring for trauma patients

• In collaboration with other clinical leaders serves as a resource specialist and assists with implementation of programs to support identified staff learning needs and system changes for improved patient outcomes and overall assurance of a high standard of care for trauma patients

• Actively participates in outreach activities including education of outside healthcare providers and citizens of the surrounding communities.

What you need to be successful:

  • BSN required / MSN preferred
  • Texas RN license or compact license is accepted
  • Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Current TNCC required
  • ACLS and ENPC preferred
  • “Must have at least two years of Emergency or ICU RN experience in an acute care hospital”
