Payroll and Benefits Specialist Job DescriptionJob Details: Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPayrollPrepare and process full-cycle, bi-weekly, multi-state payroll that complies with GHIG policies and proceduresMaintain compliant payroll legislation for multi-state taxes, withholdings and employer contributionsAudit new hire data to verify employee personal information is correctEnter authorized payment earning and deduction requests as neededAnalyze, calculate and reconcile payroll by auditing employee’s gross and net pay; taking into consideration salary, overtime, bonuses, incentives and commissionAssist employees with payroll, time/attendance and compensation issues and provide solutions and recommendationsResponsible for preparation of W-2/government forms and year-end reportingReconcile monthly, quarterly and annual filings with ExponentHROther administrative duties as required.BenefitsAdminister with accounting management all employee benefits including enrollments and terminationsApprove new hire onboarding request from Director of HR.Plan and administer annual open enrollment periodEnsure all enrollments are accurate and prepare information for reports/auditsResolve discrepancies with carriers and payrollKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of multi-state payroll processing along with payroll tax/lawKnowledge of ExponentHR payroll and benefits softwareExceptional analytical skills with an ability to create actionable reports from dataStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to take initiative and be self-managedExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesProfessionally handle sensitive and confidential informationExcellent written and verbal communications skillsRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting or related fieldProficiency with ExponentHR payroll and benefits managementGHIG provides equal employment opportunity to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, genetic information, or veteran status, or other legally protected classification in the state in which a person is seeking employment.
