Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Intern will provide assistance to our Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Texas A&M University San Antonio day to day operations and HR department projects.

The HR Intern will assist in various areas of the department which includes, but is not limited to, providing administrative assistance, planning employee focused events, HR department procedure review, website updates, professional development and training support .

This is a one-year limited-term, temp/casual position working no more than 15-19 hours per week.

Additional weekly work hours may be available during the summer months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Human Resources Department with department projects including professional development administration, workforce reporting, updating website, and other HR department functions that align with the mission of the University and the strategic plan.

The position will also assist with writing standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Assist in the review and updating of all current online employment procedures.

Intern may be required to attend University and/or Human Resources events, such as staff meetings, trainings, etc.

Required Education and Experience:

Does not require student status

Prior experience not required

Preferred Education and Experience:

Upper classman or Bachelor’s degree

Interest in pursuing a career in higher education, communication, human resources

One (1) year experience working with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, plus Canva or other software identified to support the development of websites and procedures
