WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Maintaining payroll information by designing processes to optimize the collection, calculation, and entering of data in applicable systems.* Ensuring payroll records are updated by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles, wage rates, and location/position transfers.* Paying employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts using applicable systems.* Balancing the payroll accounts by resolving any payroll discrepancies.* Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests from the field.* Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential.* Providing timely feedback to management on any issues or needs.* Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.* Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer’s social security, unemployment, and worker?s compensation payments.* Maintaining payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.* Complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
