Join us.” The Payroll Tax Manager supports approximately 25,000 employees, approximately 1,550 tax accounts encompassing all 50 states plus Puerto Rico.

The annual payroll tax burden totals approximately $150,000,000.

The Payroll Tax Manager is responsible for the company’s adherence to all payroll related local, state, federal, and other applicable tax laws and procedures.

Oversees relationship with 3rd party service providers including Equifax and ADP Smartcompliance.Responsibilities Leads organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal tax withholding, remittance, and reporting.

Stays current on legislative and industry changes that affect US payroll tax withholding, remittance, or filing obligations.

Applies for new tax accounts, as needed and monitors their status until completion.

Closes obsolete accounts so that current accounts reflect accurate agency relationships.

Oversees tax reporting to IRS, State and local entities.

Establish or maintains procedures to reduce payroll tax discrepancies, ensure accuracy and timely processes.

Ensures that all rates and set-ups are current in order to maintain proper deductions for associates and tax payments to agencies.

Communicates escalated issues with agencies to third party vendor and coordinates efforts to reach an appropriate resolution.

Works closely with payroll when necessary adjustments are made to associates’ records.

Oversees employee tax status to ensure that taxation is current and accurate for employees.

Resolves issues when there is an exception or error.

Manages daily cash funding to the employment tax vendors, guarantees all tax remittances, filings, amendments, and returns are accurate and accomplished on time to reduce tax obligations.

Leads quarter end and year end activities including balancing, reporting, general ledger account reconciliations, administering W2, W2 Corrections, and T4s.

Responsible for payroll tax analyst and provides functional advice, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employee, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily managerial tasks.Qualifications Minimum of seven years’ experience working in a large multi-state complex organization in payroll tax function Advanced knowledge in the following areas of Payroll; processing, corrections, FLSA, OT, taxes (multi-state and reciprocity), employee payroll tax maintenance, expats, non-health and welfare deductions, gross-to-net calculations, taxable fringe benefit, year-end W-2s, W-2cs, T4s and other related payroll tax tasks Working experience with ADP, Oracle HCM, or other payroll and tax filing platforms Advanced skills with Microsoft applications Demonstrated self-starter, ability to adapt rapidly to new information, and ability to inspire and foster a team environment Team player who knows how to positively respond to issues with constructive and supportive problem resolution.
