IT Business Analyst – Manufacturing


This is a Full-time position in Lockney, TX posted May 15, 2021.

Job Description: Incumbent will ensure appropriate leveraging of tools to satisfy business functional requirements in conjunction with responsibility for collaborating with other Motiva business function and IT professionals as well as 3rd Parties to deliver:
End-to-end support and delivery of software solutions which support specific business functional processes within the Motiva organization Software enabled solutions to address business opportunities identified by the Motiva business function supported Improvements to key processes within the supported business function which support business process efficiencies, new requirements, and aid with Motiva’s growth Application support to the systems associated with defined business function(s) within consistent standard business operating practices —
– executed in collaboration and conjunction with Motiva’s 3rd party IT Support Models Project Management and Delivery of solution (inclusive of: delivery and testing, documentation (project plan, requirements and functional specifications, process documents, training material), Vendor licensing, and Transition to long-term support model) for projects
Responsibilities: Individual will be responsible for:
Creating and fostering a collaborative and partnering focused environment between IT and business functional customers Fostering strong collaborative environment with IT focused 3rd Parties Translating business objectives into IT requirements Assisting supported business functions with developing and documenting business requirements Communicating with business customers regarding IT service needs, costs, and value Understanding end-to-end business processes associated with specific business functional area supported, actively measuring business contribution of enabling systems (functional business measures) Partnering with business customers to initiate improvements of business functional processes and/or systems Working across the entire IT function to ensure IT services exceed customer requirements Understanding and communicating to business customers on both the cost and value of IT services provided Developing, and where appropriate, supporting business customers in developing, business cases Performing project management activities for small to medium initiatives: Project preparation Timelines, resourcing, and budgeting Manage project execution Issues and risks management Facilitation of business customer training Hands on leadership of approved projects Reviewing available solutions, presenting the options and providing recommendations to business customers Translating business needs and/or objectives into IT requirements and sourcing IT services to meet requirements (current and future) Provide projected demand for IT services to IT service managers for planning purposes Accountability to the IT function for advocating IT policies, strategies, and practices Managing business process software portfolio Collaboratively working with domain specific vendors and industry groups Appropriately and professionally representing Motiva and Motiva IT in all interactions with Motiva-external parties Influencing business customer demand

in relevant education M.S.

or M.B.A.

preferred Minimum +5yrs experience applying IT and technology (preferable within the Energy sector) within IT organizations for mid to large size organization with multiple locations Experience with lean organizations (eg: startup / turnaround) preferred Experience in HSSE, Supply, Trading and Logistics a plus Minimum 1 to 3 year’s experience in Chemicals and/or Refining connected applications Demonstrated repeatable experience with initiatives which have been successfully delivered and encompass the following: Implementation of business process change Package software implementation Change Management activities Knowledge Transfer/Training Activities Demonstrated repeated Project Management of small to medium sized projects which had a significant impact to the business function supported processes of the customer and included leveraging Package Software External consultancy experience preferred Self-reliant Individual with demonstrated ability to quickly add value to an organization Ability to analyze and design business process improvements Action oriented, high level of energy and results oriented Ability to institute best practices and improvements in various aspects of day to day work Strong people skills as confirmed thru previous work experience Experience managing expectations while at the same time satisfying requirements Demonstrated ability to facilitate conflict whilst working with parties toward acceptable solution which satisfies spirit of requirement Demonstrated ability to team with cross functional resources to satisfy requirements Understanding of data and data governance Experience working with multicultural teams as confirmed thru previous work experience Demonstrated experience working with geographically dispersed teams (onsite, near shore, offshore) Business fluency with English (Reading, Writing, Presentation)
