IT Salesforce Solution Developer – Marketing & Sales

Position Overview: An IT Salesforce Solution Developer sits under the IT umbrella supporting the Marketing and Sales (M&S) business. M&S sells Motiva branded and unbranded fuels into the market, optimizes fuels supply and demand positions in the various (sub)markets, operates consumer loyalty programs, ensures a high-quality consumer experience at sites. Key objectives for Motiva M&S are volume growth, margin optimization and continued earnings growth. Reporting to the IT Solution Delivery M&S Lead, the IT Salesforce Solution Developer will be a Salesforce Administrator and a technical focal point for the Salesforce Platform and all Solution Clouds used in Motiva (Sales, Service Community, Marketing, etc.). The IT Salesforce Solution Developer entails coordination of projects, providing development and design, and ongoing interaction with key business stakeholders regarding enhancements, defects, and process improvements within Salesforce and its connected systems. Job Description: Incumbent will ensure appropriate leveraging of tools and personnel to satisfy technical delivery of business functional requirements with responsibility for collaborating with Motiva business stakeholders, IT professionals and as well as 3rd Party. Primary focus of job will be to deliver: End-to-end delivery and support of software solutions – with an emphasis on the Salesforce platform – which support specific business functional processes within the Motiva organization Salesforce enabled solutions to address business opportunities identified by the Motiva business function supported Improvements to key tools and technical processes within the business function that promote business efficiencies and aid with Motiva’s profitability growth Application support to the various Salesforce based and connected systems necessary for business function(s) Deliver support and development consistent with Motiva standard business operating practices and Motiva’s 3rd party IT support models Project management and solution delivery (inclusive of: business problem/opportunity identification, option analysis, IT solution vetting, delivery and testing, documentation ( project plan, requirements and functional specifications, process documents, training material ), vendor solution licensing, and transition to long-term support model) for projects and ongoing IT operations Responsibilities: Designing and developing IT solutions to meet business objectives, with particular but not exclusive emphasis on the Salesforce platform Partnering with business stakeholders to identify and initiate improvements of business functional processes and/or IT systems Translating business needs and/or objectives into IT requirements and sourcing IT services to meet requirements (current and future) Serving as technical focal point for IT Solutions Delivery on major projects, new enhancements and ongoing break fix incidents on the Salesforce platform Fostering a collaborative environment between Motiva IT groups, business stakeholders and 3rd Party partners and IT providers Representing and advocating good technical solution design to encompass business requirements, supportability and cost/benefit of solution delivery Working across the entire IT function to ensure IT services exceed customer requirements Determination of configuration vs code-based development on new solutions and existing enhancements. Developing, and where appropriate, supporting business customers in developing business cases Hands on leadership of the SDLC for business prioritized system enhancements and approved projects Reviewing available solutions, presenting the options and providing recommendations and technical design to business customers Educate business stakeholders and IT colleagues on technical capabilities and limitations of various solution options by means of both formal presentation and informal communication Accountable for advocating and adhering to applicable IT policies, strategies, and practices Appropriately and professionally representing Motiva and Motiva IT in all interactions with Motiva-external parties Technical and functional expertise with Salesforce (Sales, Service, & Marketing Clouds) Qualifications: B.S. in relevant education Minimum 5yrs experience applying IT and technology within IT organizations for mid to large size organization with multiple locations Minimum 3yrs experience in developing Salesforce solutions using config and code approaches for mid to large size organization with multiple locations. Demonstrated repeatable experience with initiatives which have been successfully delivered and encompass the following: Implementation of business process change Package software selection and implementation Collaborative custom software development and implementation Change management activities Knowledge transfer / training activities Demonstrated repeated project management of small to medium sized projects which had a significant impact to the business function supported processes of the customer and included leveraging IT solutions (customer or purchased package) Self-reliant and self-motivated with demonstrated ability to quickly add value to an organization Ability to analyze and design business process improvements Action oriented, high level of energy and results oriented Ability to institute best practices and improvements in various aspects of day to day work Strong people skills as confirmed thru previous work experience Experience managing expectations while at the same time satisfying requirements Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaboration, mitigate conflict and work with multiple parties toward acceptable solution to satisfy business needs & requirements Demonstrated ability to team with cross functional resources to satisfy requirements Understanding of data and data governance Experience with system to system integration patterns and good practices Experience working with multicultural teams as confirmed thru previous work experience Business fluency with English (Reading, Writing, Presentation) Technical and functional expertise with Salesforce (Sales, Service, Community & Marketing Clouds) Technical and functional expertise with multiple system integrations
