Lead Analytics Consultant – Enterprise Analytics And Data Science Team

 About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant to join the Enterprise Analytics and Data Science teams.
This role is within the Business Intelligence Team. EADS’ Business Intelligence (EADS BI) team consults companywide on data exploration and visualization best practices, and provides BI/analytic services within DMI which includes developing and maintaining Tableau and PowerBI solutions that support DMI programs and services. EADS BI looks to solve interesting business problems through data exploration and visualization; navigating business partner through their data story. As a member of the team, you will engage directly with diverse business teams and use your analytic expertise to build/partner on new solutions, dashboards as well as enhancing current workstream solutions.
As a lead analytics consultant, you will contribute to all phases of the engagement – from discovery to user requirements gathering to the design, development, and implementation of solutions-the primary responsibility will be to lead the build of effective solutions in Python and/or SQL.
In this role, you will:

  • Perform default, loss, and prepayment forecasting on credit sensitive positions within the Analytics Portfolio
  • Participate in company stress testing and capital planning efforts surrounding the securities portfolio and Treasury mortgage portfolio
  • Advise line of business, companywide functions, and more experienced leadership on business strategies based on research of performance metrics, trends in population distributions, predictive scenario modeling, and other complex data to maximize profits and asset growth, and minimize operating losses within risk and other operating standards
  • Interpret and translate regulatory defined stress test scenarios into model parameters, evaluate results of stress test results, and interpretation of model output
  • Provide leadership in the identification and development of new research concepts and designs
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed
  • Provide updates on project logs, monthly budget forecasts, monthly newsletters, and operations reviews
  • Assist managers and leaders in building quarterly and annual plans and forecast future market research needs for business partners supported
  • Mentor or manage less experienced staff, interns, and external contractors
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
  • Analyze varied data sets for use in BI development
  • Provide both technical and process consulting
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations
  • Learn new tools and techniques based on what the projects require
  • Lead through all aspects of the analytics lifecycle from intake and defining a business problem to extracting data, manipulating data, generating insights, and summarizing “the story” for partners and leaders

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of business intelligence experience

This role will accept candidates with need of Visa Sponsorship with a Master’s Degree or higher.
Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Tableau or Power BI Portfolio
  • Knowledge and understanding of data organizing or structuring complex data across varied data sources
  • Experience using SQL or Python for data transformation
