Description The Network Engineering Associate achieves and sustains operational excellence while working closely with systems and operations teams to troubleshoot all Infrastructure solutions (networking, middleware, systems, storage, cloud, endpoint). The incumbent understands product configuration, flow and logging in detail. S/he understands operating system configurations, tuning and customization as well as networking & storage infrastructures. The Associate, Infrastructure Engineering implements solutions to system problems and provides well-analyzed and defined recommendations on process improvements and best practices for implementation at the organization. S/he influences others with their recommendations of system improvements to gain support and implement solutions to identified problems.Designs analyze and support the company’s networking information technology structure, systems, and processes. Acquires, designs, implements, and operates the company’s information technology networking resources. Supports day to day operations of the networking infrastructure. Deploys, acquire, maintains and ensures the security of information technology assets. Plans and tests processes to ensure compliance with system requirements, business objectives, security standards, and other technical requirements.Essential Functions:Support all of Santander’s Networking infrastructure to provide consistent networking services for client foundation for the Santander Consumers infrastructure core in multiple Data Centers. (This is inclusive of Server, Storage, Database, VMware, Networking, and Citrix)Responsible for the analysis of the networking infrastructure systems, and engineering needs throughout the Santander networkNetwork Infrastructure product evaluations and selection, work with business partners on vendor selection, design, architecture, implementation, product/platform lifecycle, and on-going support.Responsible for planning, implementation, and establishment of operational and maintenance programs to deliver best-in-class platform infrastructure. (Includes optimizing all aspects of infrastructure eco-system, including performance, resiliency, availability, resource utilization, disaster recovery, life-cycle, patching, and innovation.)Requirements:Education -Bachelor’s Degree: in Finance, Business, Information Management/Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent field or equivalent work experienceCertifications in Networking technologies a plusExperience -5-9 years’ experience in building and managing Networking Technology Infrastructure and Operational environments.5-9 years of hands on networking support with Cisco routing, switching and firewall technologiesOther relevant technologies include FireMon, F5 Networks, FirePower, Cisco ASA, Cisco DNAC5-9 years’ experience leading teams and employee management5-9 years’ experience managing vendors5-9 year’s working on networking, and networking security technologies such as; IPS, IDS, VPN’s, NAC, Wireless standards and protocols, network routing and switching technologies in a global infrastructureSkills & Abilities -Demonstrated knowledge of Infrastructure Solutions troubleshootingDemonstrated knowledge of Infrastructure Solutions design (resilience, compliance, security)Proficient in more than one specific infrastructure technology domain (Networking, Systems, Storage, Middleware, Databases)Executes against understanding of market best practices and industry frameworks (FFIEC guidelines, NIST standards, etc.)Strong desire to produce quality work, adopt standards and adhere to those standardsClear understanding on how automation can help improve efficiencies, quality, reliability and response timeHands-on experience working with Infrastructure design and implementationTechnical aptitude, written and oral communications skills, project management and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels (technical and business audiences) and in different situations.
