Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

About the Role:

CrowdStrike is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing Managed Services Product Group.  This team of engineers focuses on building platforms and products that power the analysts within our services business.  We?re looking for mission focused individuals who can tackle hard problems and want to make a material impact in keeping our customers safe from global adversary groups.

As an SDET within the Managed Services Product Group you will own the direction and implementation of the end-to-end testing automation for our thread hunting and threat remediation products.  You will be involved in the concept and development of new products within the Managed Services Product Group and be expected to make significant contributions to the design, development, implementation and quality of major projects as well as the test infrastructure itself by developing new tools to enable projects under development to test more effectively.

Success in this role means:

  • Providing continuous value to the team, even while you sleep, because your automation runs without you

  • Being able to articulate a level of confidence in systems about to be released

  • Leveraging as much of CrowdStrike?s existing test infrastructure as is reasonably possible

  • Building tools that help improve engineer?s visibility into the quality of the systems they are delivering

We are a growing team that works hand in hand with our security analysts around the globe to improve existing tooling and develop novel solutions to improve the overall efficacy of the products as well as the efficiency of analysts.  We are distributed across the United States and the United Kingdom.  Slack is our primary communication method and much of our work is done in an asynchronous manner.  We try to sync up as a team once daily and everyone on the team is always game to catch up in real-time when needed.

About You:

  • Have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or SDET

  • Can demonstrated experience working within a common SDLC

  • Have experience in white-box testing techniques

  • Have material experience in the generation of synthetic test data for complex systems

  • Have experience with CI/CD frameworks

  • Are both competent and confident in Python, Ruby, Golang or Node.js

  • Experience with testing methods for peta scale data systems
