Sr. Cloud Test Engineer

This is a Full-time position in Randolph, TX posted October 26, 2021.

DSA Inc.

is seeking a qualified Senior Cloud Test Engineer at JBSA Randolph.

The selected candidate will join DSA’s team supporting migration and sustainment of GTIMS to the Cloud.

The Test Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing tests in an IaaS Cloud hosted environment, reviewing and analyzing test results, identifying defects/bugs, communicating with the architect, software engineers and support team, re-testing and verifying defects/bugs are fixed, and assisting in various other phases of the development lifecycle when needed.

Position may require weekend and nighttime hours (
Technical Requirements: Test Engineer will accomplish demonstrations, test and analysis of the Government-provided Cloud Development Environments (DevNet and G/TIMS Proof-of-Concept) configurations and provisioning, network and interface connections, cloud service offerings (DNS, Audit, Logging, Security, etc.) and operations.

Lead development of the VDI Test and Validation Plan and Test and Validation Report detailing the results of the test, VDI product options, performance and test data, connection and performance impacts and assessment.

Provide test strategy input on the Production Cloud Migration Plan for future G/TIMS site migrations to the cloud.
Job Roles/Duties:
Create and execute formal test scripts in an IaaS Cloud environment for Infrastructure configurations
Create and execute performance and load generation testing in an IaaS Cloud environment
Create and review test plan documents as required
Work with a team of System Engineers, Software Engineers and Test Engineering personnel for sustainment efforts of the Graduate Training Information Management System (GTIMS) applications
Create and execute formal test scripts against documented acceptance criteria and based upon system knowledge/experience
Perform secondary error discovery, triage and verification and validation of fixes
Perform testing in multiple environments
Review, analyze and address incident tickets
Document and report test activity to the change process
Ensure validated and approved issues are documented and tracked in issue tracking system for future analysis
Test features according to the Life-Cycle Systems Engineering Principles and Practices
Perform Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) as part of continuous improvement to verify functionality works as intended, is documented, and is free of defects
Apply regression testing to ensure no bugs are released into related areas of the application.
Perform test verification
Provide testing coverage for all active user environments

Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, Software Engineering or another technical field, or related major.

Relevant technical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
4+ years of software/test engineering experience, or 2+ years development team experience and 2+ years automated testing experience
Experience in the application of various formal and documented testing methods and tools
2+ years of experience designing and testing IaaS Cloud configurations using VM’s, virtual networks, container storage, resource groups, VPN, DNS, Key Vaults, firewalls, and more within an Azure Cloud hosted environment
Advance understanding of various IT enterprise resources, purpose and configurations in an IaaS hosted environment
Experience with configuring performance test environments and load generation environments in the Cloud
Experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly DevOps
Familiarity with Agile development processes including working in sprints, planning, estimation, prioritization, scoping, and demoing
Experience collaborating with multiple people spread out across several teams
Experience with the Microsoft suite of Office products
Experience with formal application lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr)
Experience in testing multi-tiered Windows applications and Web applications
Familiarity with SQL, including the ability to write, modify, and execute SQL queries to support the test process and test data validation
Comfortable working in both Windows client-server and Web-based development in separate QA and production environments
Understanding of the SDLC process as it pertains to testing
Ability to read and execute test plans based on product/feature specifications
Ability to study product specifications, maintain existing test guidelines, and create innovative testing methods and test cases
Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
Strong preference for current knowledge of G/TIMS program
Current knowledge of Air Force Network Environments
Experience with DoD System Development
One or more of the following certifications: ITIL-F Certified, CompTIA Security+ Certification, CompTIA A+ Certification
Jira/Zephyr knowledge
Experience converting existing manual test cases into automated test sequences
Automated testing experience
Experience working with Agile teams
Testing certification (ex.

Cloud certifications (ex.

AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-303)
IAM Level II or IASE II certification
