CAPEX Procurement and Logistics Specialist


This is a Full-time position in College Station, TX posted July 9, 2021.

Summary: The CAPEX Procurement and Logistics Specialist, under the supervision of the Director of Engineering and Technology, will be responsible for the support of capital projects documentation through the management of initiation and close out documents, schedule tracking, cost controls and multi-departmental approval routing.

This position is an instrumental in the management of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) & logistics at FDBT.

Essential Functions:
Produce CAPEX documents and own the approval process to conclusion using SAP, Jagger
– eBOT, MS Excel, Smartsheets and other associated documentation.

Maintain a daily process with external suppliers to ensure all CAPEX orders are distributed in a timely manner.

Purchase goods and negotiate contracts with vendors to support FDB procurement.

Coordinate with the legal department the generation and approval of any require documentation, require for the procurement of Capex services and goods.

Work with the project engineering team and internal customers to identify, define, and implement capital projects Partner with end users and project engineering to ensure recommended equipment meets requirements Synthesize technical information from User Requirement Specification forms, existing equipment/utility configurations, and vendor equipment information to create project Request for Concurrence (RFC) forms, Track RFC forms through multi departmental approval routing, Update and track financial dashboards and KPIs, Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly project updates for project sponsors, department heads and Steering Committee, Work directly with contractors to coordinate and monitor installation of new equipment, Perform other duties as assigned, Apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve , Support project closing activities, Communicate with management on delays and obstacles that may affect daily functions and impact project deliverables.

Required Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for discussing complex business processes Technical writing experience Positive, customer service oriented skills and behavior Ability to coordinate, facilitate, and organize resources Possesses the skills and capability to plan ahead and stay on schedule Strong knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments with little supervision Ability to work in a team or independent setting and collaborate with employees from various departments Desire to work in a fast paced, state of the art, expanding manufacturing facility

Experience prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is required Ability to sit for long periods to work on a computer This position may be On-Call for project monitoring Attendance is mandatory
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree and four (4) years of experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry Associate degree in an engineering or technology discipline or related field and six (6) years of experience High School Diploma/GED with follow on education in a technical school or trade with eight (8) years of qualified experience in an FDA or other regulated engineering role
Preferred Qualifications:
GMP/GLP experience Knowledge of design and construction methods of bio-processing equipment, clean utilities, and other equipment Experience with project management software specifically Revu Bluebeam and SmartSheets
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
