Overview Accepting applications Open & closing dates Opening and closing dates03/18/2021 to 03/31/2021 Service Competitive Pay scale & grade GS 13 Salary $92,143 to $119,787 per year Appointment type Permanent Work schedule Full-Time Duties SummaryThis position will report to the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, Criminal Intelligence Division, National Geospatial Intelligence Branch, Washington DC.As a lead geospatial-focused Intelligence Research Specialist for ATF West Region, you will be responsible for the softwre, training, production support, production, and overall development of the ATF West Region’s geospatial efforts.ResponsibilitiesThe West Region consists of field divisions in Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; and Phoenix, AZ and field offices throughout the Western U.S.  Specific duty location will be to a field division or field office within commuting distance from where selectee currently resides or willing to relocate with the understanding that no relocation expenses will be paid. Serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) for geospatial intelligence in Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, and the geospatial intelligence representative of ATF to current and potential mission partners, companies, and entities.Evaluate ATF’s current and evolving state of geospatial analysis and data management with either written reports or communications to ATF managers.Collect, evaluate, analyze, and extract information from various sources, sometimes involving raw intelligence, and compile into useful, finished analytical products, reports and correspondence.Responsible for delivering geospatial analysis and data to ATF that will enhance analytic tradecraft and production.Travel RequiredOccasional travel

QualificationsTo qualify for GS-13 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal Service.Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.

Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.  Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive experience in collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and developing geospatial intelligence reports and analytical products used in the identification of criminal activity or criminal investigations; experience demonstrating skill in inductive and deductive reasoning to analyze and evaluate the relevance, significance, validity and potential applications of intelligence information; experience developing written and graphical geospatial products, preparing reports and other forms of written communication; and experience in providing training, briefings and advice on geospatial tools and methodologies.Please do not cut and paste  the position description, specialized experience, or occupational assessment questionnaire from this announcement into your resume, as this will not be considered a demonstration of your qualifications for this position.The GS-13 salary range will be dependent on the location where the selection is made.   If you are a new federal (civil service) employee, your starting salary will be set at the Step 1 for this position and the grade level for which you are selected.Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP).
