Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldLaw ClerkPAE has an opportunity to provide legal related support in Dallas, TX regarding equal opportunity investigations.Duties may include:* Serves as monitor of settlement agreements that enter into a resolution agreement or incur a Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP).* Understand and interpret State systems for providing services and support in institutional and community settings for people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illnesses* Identify federal and other sources of funding to assist State transition to a community care system of support and services for people with intellectual disabilities or mental illnesses* Monitor complex class actions, preferable in the context of cases involving people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illnesses.* Perform complex legal research; preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.; reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.* Responsibilities may include acting as primary interface with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff.Minimum Qualifications:* Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.* Must have law degree.* Must have five (5) years of experience in litigating and/or monitoring complex class actions, preferable in the context of cases involving people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illnesses.* Personnel must have excellent analytical and writing as well as strong communication and negotiation abilities.* Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.* Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.* Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.* Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.Preferred Qualifications:* Familiar or have direct experience with HIPAA compliance, laws, and or regulations.PAE is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
