Unidos Por Un Sueno Home Assessment and Follow-Up Services Caseworker

This is a Contract position in Dallas, TX posted August 22, 2021.

Position Overview: The Home Study and Post Release Services (HS/PRS) Program, within the Division of Immigration Services, works to reunify unaccompanied children under ORR care with an appropriate family member or sponsor in the United States, and support children and families in the community.

The Home Assessment and Follow-Up Services Caseworker will work closely with the Unaccompanied Child (UC) and their Sponsor to make sure the UC is meaningfully engaged in attending school or receiving vocational skills training.

The HAFUS Caseworker will: Provide appropriate services to the Sponsor to meet the social development and education and/or vocational needs of UC.

Ensure UC and their Sponsor are linked to linguistically and culturally appropriate resources/services in their neighborhood or community that will assure the UC’s safety, well-being and stability (enrolled in school/vocational program, attending recreation programs, working as appropriate, receiving counseling or mental health services, affiliated with faith community).

Carry a case minimum caseload of 25 PRS cases, or at least 3 home studies with 20 PRS cases.

Provide crisis intervention to Sponsor.

Ensure appropriate and timely case management services are provided to UC, and their Sponsor in keeping with approved ORR and USCRI Standards.

Applicants should be aware that the funder for this program requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, due to having frequent contact with clients in their homes and communities.

Employees will need to take the vaccine or show proof of vaccination status in order to work in this program.

Position Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and experience in the social service field.

Excellent oral and written skills.

Proficient computer skills.

Fluent in English and Spanish.

Valid New York State Driver’s License.
