Open: Remote Hands Technician (6-month contract-to-hire)Location: Cincinnati, OHPay: Up to $40/hr.Summary:The Remote Hands Technician, Lead will work with and support all IT demands which may include, racking and stacking of equipment, cabling, cross connects, troubleshooting, inventory, etc.

Internally, the Remote Hands Technician, Lead will work with the Operations Team, as well as the local data center Provisioning team and Project Management to ensure relevant installations meet delivery dates.

The Remote Hands Technician, Lead will be primarily responsible for responding to requests, troubleshooting IT equipment and assisting other members of the Team ensuring 100% uptime.

This position is expected to report to the facility on a full-time basis and occasionally be responsive to company emails and chats on a per needed basis outside of work hours.Responsibilities:Perform Remote Hands services including, but is not limited to the following:Equipment Rack and StackCable, terminate, and dress fiber or copper network cablingAssist internal team with the diagnosis of hardware and software issues on equipmentPower cycling of equipmentPerform cabinet/cage auditsBlade/Card, Memory, Hard Drive, and Transceiver installations or removalTesting and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic circuitsPerform migrations of equipment, power, or networking devicesShipping and receiving of packagesReceive, install, and test cross connects of copper and fiber optic interconnectionsUse of power and hand tools (e.G., screwdrivers, drills, wire strippers, punch down tools, etc.)Provide timely updates using a computer-based ticketing systemPerform and document inventory verification/countsDraft and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures or Method of ProceduresAssist to maintain overall Data Center cleanliness and appearanceWork flexible shift schedulesReport to the facility within a 1-hour average for emergency assistance as neededQualifications:5+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Data Center related fieldLinuxCompTIA A+ / Net + Certification (at least 1 certification required)Understanding of telecom structured cabling standardsUnderstanding of network device deploymentAbility to communicate written and verballyWork flexible shift schedulesProvide rotational coverage as neededUse of industry standard test equipmentTroubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsProfessional business communication and interpersonal skillsDesired (but not Required) Job Skills/Knowledge:General knowledge of AC/DC electrical theoryUnderstanding of Building Management System (BMS) and Branch Circuit Monitoring System (BCMS)Effective organizational skills and attention to detailLeadership and Team experienceKnowledge of Telcordia installation standardsStrong analytical skillsAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Explorer) and or/equivalentsMeets physical demands of the position including:Lift and handle up to 50 poundsBend, stoop, and stretch as required for placement and retrieval of network devices, materials, or equipmentClimb ladders (up to 16 feet) to reach plenum spaces
