Calibration Technician II

Overview: Calibration Technician II is a mid-level position.

These technicians will have the ability to calibrate higher-level equipment and calibrate equipment across a minimum of three disciplines (or have an expert level of knowledge/calibration experience in one to two disciplines).

Responsibilities: Major Areas of Responsibility:A calibration technician II will be expected to perform the following; other duties may be assigned.Perform their own calibration work with little to no supervisionConduct their own research when necessaryCoordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from managerAble to conduct calibration work at customer on-sites with little to no directionWork with lab support staffIdentify and utilize appropriate measurement techniquesUnderstand and apply uncertainties to measurements madeBe able to read and interpret labs scopes of accreditationMaintain calibration standardsMust be able to perform these functions within a laboratory or customer onsite settingMust be able to travel approximately 50% of work schedulePrimary Objectives:Learn and develop fundamental skills necessary to calibration techniques and processes which includeshigh level production with minimal errorsDevelop team lead skills and responsibilitiesDevelop skills necessary to advise calibration process for lower level techniciansDevelop skills necessary to advance to sr.

calibration technician position Qualifications: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:To be considered for a calibration technician II position, the following knowledge, skills and abilities are requiredAbility to learn new skills in regards to calibration and calibration processesPrevious experience with electronic or pressure training preferredBasic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry and statisticsFamiliarity with basic toolsProficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookBasic organizational and time management skillsBasic interpersonal skills to interact with customersPosition will include team lead responsibilitiesCandidates with experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE,Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics highly desiredEducation and Experience:Associates Degree from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related field experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Demands:These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
