Coatings/Polymers Senior Test Technician


This is a Full-time position in Houston, TX posted May 8, 2021.

Overview Element has an opportunity for a Coatings/Polymers Senior Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team.

As a member of the operations team, the Senior Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.

The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities * Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirements * Requires little supervision and technical input of a Department Manager, Principal Technician, Project Coordinator or Engineer * Possesses the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical data * Ability to transfer technical knowledge / requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specifications Skills / Qualifications * Working knowledge of laboratory safety * HS diploma or GED certificate preferred.

College or vocational school coursework welcomed * Must have earned Associate degree in related testing or science field and/or possess 3-6 years of experience in a testing related field * In-depth understanding of testing concepts * Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed * Possess strong computer skills * Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus * Possesses the ability to perform lower to intermediate complex testing * Ability to work alone the majority of the work day; only requiring assistance for clarification or confirmation of test procedures * Effectively manages time and practices accountability for the testing to be performed * Ability to take testing projects from start to finish, completing each step properly * Ability to hold team members and peer technicians accountable for the testing requirements * Advanced ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required in accordance with customer specifications * Ability to construct and maintain test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order based on client needs * Ability to maintain and repair equipment * Ensures timely and accurate results with little supervision and technical input #LI-TF1 Company Overview We are Element, one of the fastest growing testing, inspection, certification and calibration businesses in the world.
