Whether you will spend your day in an office cubicle, operating a crane or running the melt shop at one of our mills, at CMC, you’ll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You’ll DoPerforms necessary maintenance tasks including repair or replacement of damaged parts, adjustments and calibration procedures, assemble, install, test and execute preventative maintenance tasks on various forms of manufacturing equipmentPerform all facets of the repair safely while utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools at different heights or adverse conditionsPerform equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, equipment repairs and troubleshooting equipment problems in an accurate and efficient mannerEnsures timely completion of preventative maintenance and predictive based work orders within specifications and compliance with appropriate rules and regulations affecting this areaPlan maintenance work as well as work routinely with vendorsEffectively monitor and inspect equipment for defectsInterpret blueprints, drawings, and schematicsOperate a computer proficiently (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)Maintain good general housekeeping, keeping clean equipment and work area.

Keep all tools in good working conditionChampion and ensure adherence to CMC’s Guiding Principles, Code of Conduct, Culture, and policies and proceduresWhat You’ll NeedPossess specific fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmission equipment, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, welding principles, rigging, overhead cranes, gearboxes, and mobile equipment operationHands on maintenance, diagnostics, and repair abilitiesMust be able to read and interpret mechanical prints and diagramsAbility to work an 8-hour schedule, which may require some evening or weekend workMust be able to work overtime and cross train as requiredAbility to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spacesCapable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing and kneelingAbility to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to find root cause for equipment failuresBasic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) requiredDemonstrates dependability in attendance, work completions, and flexibility to meet business needsStrong communication skills required.
