Job Title: Machine Operator 1FLSA Status: Non-ExemptDepartment: OperationsReports to : Assistant Manager,Superintendent or Assistant SuperintendentGENERALDESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:MO-1 ON TRACK EQUIPMENT OPERATOR is a field based position operating on an approximate 21/7 schedule responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairingcompany railway maintenance and inspection equipment.

This position can operateLoram’s on track MOW equipment and/or on track vehicles with supervision inboth operating and travel modes.

In thisrole you may be assigned to various types of inspection vehicle equipment platforms dependent onbusiness needs and demands.

This position will be working with the SPS/self-powered remote machines in the inspection division.

Previous railroad operational experience helpful.ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS:SafetyFocusedAbility to lead a comprehensive and appropriate job briefing during operations shifts, maintenance shifts, and while conducting maintenance tasks.Consistently follows safe work processes, procedures and rulesUnderstands on track safety and can explain specifics when askedAble to locate all emergency equipment and demonstrate correct operationMachine Operationsand Technical KnowledgeConducts machine inspections to identify problems, defects, changes, and hazards and communicates conditions to the operator or supervisor and performs common repairs as instructed.

Provides accurate feedback that allows machine leadership to make maintenance decisionsAccurately records and reports common parts used to supervisor, including floor stockPerforms maintenance and repairs according to set schedules and policiesAccurately describes gauge and HMI functions as they relate to machine operationDemonstrates the ability to document and complete daily field reporting, personal expense reporting, field lodging, and other administrative reporting as necessaryBEHAVIORALCOMPETENCIES:Safety AwarenessValues BasedLearning on the FlyAction OrientedListeningPersonal Learning REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS:Experience:3+ Months Experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent heavy equipment ina 24/7 environment.
